The Sculpture Symposium Trust is committed to enriching arts and culture throughout New Zealand by facilitating learning and engagement for the general public. We believe sculpture is more than static art—it's a living conversation between materials, makers, and communities.
Through carefully organized symposia, we create spaces where seasoned sculptors and emerging artists converge to share techniques, challenge conventions, and push the boundaries of three-dimensional art. Our mission extends beyond individual growth to collective enrichment, making sculpture education accessible across Taranaki, Wellington, Wairarapa, Nelson, Marlborough, and Tasman.

As a non-trading entity, we focus on organizing transformative symposia and providing financial support to sculptors and educational programs.
Our flagship programs bring together sculptors of all experience levels for intensive, hands-on learning experiences. These multi-day events combine technical instruction, creative experimentation, and peer collaboration in inspiring settings across New Zealand.
We provide direct financial support to individual sculptors through our grant and loan programs. These funds help artists pursue advanced education, acquire materials and equipment, attend international symposia, or develop ambitious new works.
Through public programs and partnerships, we make sculpture accessible to everyone. Our initiatives demystify the sculptural process, celebrate local talent, and inspire new generations to engage with three-dimensional art forms.
We cultivate a thriving sculptural community by facilitating connections between artists, institutions, and audiences. Our network strengthens the entire New Zealand sculpture ecosystem through knowledge exchange and mutual support.
